Sanitization:

 

Different types of water contain different levels of bacteria, viruses, and pathogens. The water from a plumbing supply pipe does not have the same level of contaminants as water from a dishwasher leak, toilet bowl overflow, sewage drain back-up, or rainwater. Contaminated water can spread harmful bacteria and viruses to any surface it touches. Emergency Fire & Water Restoration uses industrial strength anti-microbial solutions containing germicides, fungicides, and algaecides to kill these harmful agents before they cause greater damage to your property or cause personal injury.

 

Air Movement & Dehumidification:

 

Once water has been extracted from a structure, and potential contaminants have been addressed, industrial air movers and dehumidifiers are brought in to accelerate the drying process. Equipment is usually set-up to create a vortex which maximizes airflow and allows dehumidification units to capture the most moisture in the least amount of time. Temperature control is imperative and can speed up or slow down the drying process if not monitored. The average structure can normally be dried-out within 3-5 days depending on the type of water loss and circumstances. In certain cases, additional specialty drying equipment may need to be used to dry structural materials in a more controlled environment.
